We are serious about our grilled cheese in this house. Four types of cheese. Three slices of bread. A slice of tomato (to make it healthy!) It’s messy and gooey, but oh so good. Tip: cook over medium-low heat to give the sandwich time to warm and melt all the layers of cheese.
Ingredients:
1 loaf of sliced sandwich bread
4 tablespoons of butter
8 slices of Muenster Cheese
1 large Beefsteak tomato
1 12-oz container of Pimento Cheese Spread
8 slices of American cheese
6 oz of shredded mozzarella
Butter the bottom slice of bread and then layer in the following order: Muenster Cheese, tomato, second slice of bread, Pimento Cheese Spread, American Cheese and top slice of bread (buttered on the outside.)
On a lightly oiled skillet over medium-high heat, place the sandwiches and grill on each side about 3-5 minutes. (Do not let the heat get too high. Give the sandwich time to warm and melt all the layers of cheese.)
