Ravioli with Vodka Cream Sauce

Take it up a notch with some cream and vodka added to your tomato sauce. Pour over ready-made ravioli and dinner is simple, yet elegant.

Ingredients:

1 package of frozen cheese ravioli

1 onion, diced

2 tbsp of olive oil

1 tsp of crushed red pepper

1 tsp of dried basil

1 tsp of oregano

4 whole garlic cloves

salt and pepper

1 28-oz can of crushed tomatoes

1 cup of vodka

1 cup of heavy cream

1/2 cup of parmesan cheese

 

In a large saucepan, saute onion in olive oil.  Add crushed red pepper.  Cook until the onion is translucent.  Add garlic, oregano. basil, salt and pepper.  Cook for 2-3 minutes.  Add vodka.  Cook another 3 minutes.  Add tomato sauce and simmer for 20 minutes.

Add cream and parmesan.  Stir until combined.  Pour over cooked ravioli.  Garnish with basil leaves.
